the marionettes are dying

dying marionettes hang from  
rusted pins on blackened oil
stained walls, their munja
strings barely holding them
in place.

distressed faces are painted
in melancholy colours of blue
black and grey with slithered
red and fading lines as lips
curved in the reminisce of
lost smiles.

whilst hopes
and dreams lay
broken on the
tarp covered floor.
